Research Committee
The Research Committee is charged with promoting and encouraging research in the clinical practice of forensic nurses. The Research Committee currently hosts webinars, evaluates and rates the posters submitted each year at the IAFN Annual Conference and manages the IAFN research awards.
Initiatives
- Evaluate research proposals for the IAFN Research Grant
- Inform membership of current research advances impacting forensic nursing practice
- Recognize excellence in dissemination of research and EBP
- Promote forensic nursing research by reviewing queries for surveys and other study recruitments of our membership
- Support professional growth in both research and its translation, and evidence-based practice
- Mentor new researchers
Member Commitment: The Research Committee meets virtually on a monthly basis. Members of the committee are expected to attend meetings regularly and promote the work of the committee. If a member is unable to attend at least 6 meetings per year or contribute to the work of the committee, they may be asked to withdraw from the committee.
